Rabble & Sage
Rebellious Celtic Folk Music
in the Pacific Northwest
A newly formed band of seasoned Renaissance Faire performers in Portland Oregon
As seeds scatter to the wind, life circumstances spread apart the members of Rabble and Sage for many years. They were reunited in Portland, Oregon, and, missing their time with the Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire and LARP, came together to make art, music, and community once more. Thus, in 2022, a rebellious Celtic Folk Band and transplant Renfaire performers in Portland called Rabble and Sage took root.
The goal this time, is to raise the voices of the less fortunate through history.
Rabble and Sage plays a lot of the usual Celtic folk standards, but our emphasis is on songs about the struggles of the common folk and about communities working together. We have old workers’ songs from the periods of the Tudor and Stewart dynasties, as well as Acadian and early British colony music.
